Our service department and workshop is headed by Mr. Franco Ruzzier and assisted by Hendrik Lou and Willem Nap jr.
We are the only organ company in SA which has 2 workshops that are operated fulltime - one in Johannesburg and one
in Cape Town. Our technicians work full-day in our workshops to repair lots of other musical instruments
and do not have to work somewhere else as is the case with other organ colleagues in SA.
All Content organs have a 10 year guarantee on all electronic components.
A reference letter from a Content organ owner (2009): "Thank you for the outstanding service,
and for the parts for my 19 year old Content organ which Content factory & L'Organaro have supplied
free of charge!" (Mr. Dunsberg)
The Content factory still supplies and stocks components for the first Content organs produced.
Every single Content organ has a company record sheet to help in future service-calls.
One of our colleague Content importers overseas claimed that of the more than 1000 Content
organs he has installed up to date, not a single Content organ has been out of order during any
Sunday service. A reference list of recent and older organs is available on request.
Mr. Franco Ruzzier has been in the electronic organ field for the American Hammond organ
company since 1962, when they have requested him to open a service centre in Johannesburg.
The demand for Hammond organs had grown so tremendously that the company decided to open an
assembly plant in Klerksdorp in collaboration with Boosey and Hawkes Music Company, headed by
Mr. Schutte. The organs were imported from the USA in kit form and assembled at the South Afican plant,
while the cabinets were being fully constructed from SA materials. The SA Hammond factory plant
employed over 100 people at that time.
Since 1973, Franco has been self-employed in the same field as a consultancy and maintenance/repair
electronic technician, until Hammond requested him to be the official Hammond agent for maintenance
in SA under the name of L'Organaro. This has taken him to many parts of South Africa, as well as
neighbouring and international countries. In the olden days, the SA Army even flew him to the northern
borders to service their organs! He has also installed organs at schools, universities, churches,
and the SABC. He has also done installations of several other organ brands in SA.
At the end of 1999, he was offered the Content organ agency for Southern Africa by the Content
factory owner. At that stage, Content Organs has already been in Southern Africa, but there was
no reliable service available and the demand for Content organs was getting more and more. The
Content factory was not prepared to sell more organs to SA until the right service was in place.
Franco Ruzzier was introduced to the Content service centre by a Content client who recommended him.
After prolonged discussions with the Content factory, Franco visited the factory and familiarised
himself with all the technical aspects. He was greatly impressed by their workmanship and the quality
and sound of the Content organs. He said that he had never heard such good quality and now he
understood why Content had been awarded with the prestigious "Diapason d' Or Paris France" in 1987.
Franco valued excellent after-sales support, as he had experienced very bad service from certain
other importend organs which he could not repair as no parts were available either from the factory
or the importer. It often happened that these companies closed down or disappeared or changed their
business name so that they were not liable for any promises made when they sold a organ! (Proof and
references are available).
Together, Franco Ruzzier and Willem Nap sr, started to import Content organs and hundreds of
instruments were placed in Southern Africa at churches, homes, schools, etc, as far as Ghana.
In order to keep our after service record impeccable, Hendrik Lou (who has been in our workshop
for the last 13 years), also has been trained by Franco. Willem Nap jr has also been to the Content
factory several times for extensive training.
L'Organaro only sells Content organs and does not need to import other inferior organ brands,
which some organ importers apparently claim to be cheaper. We have experienced
that the parts were not available after a few years and the guarantees and quality did not match our high standards.
